A Dublin Airport passenger was left out of pocket after Aer Lingus postponed a "dream holiday" which had been booked on certain dates for personal reasons by a husband and wife.
"We had arranged to fly out the day before and were staying for 15 days but Aer Lingus decided all of a sudden to cancel these flights for no reason and defer the flight out by one day." He continued: "We've had to book two extra, unplanned and unpaid days off work. We had to reschedule our hire car, villa arrangements and airport parking. All in all we're about €600 out of pocket.
He added: "They did give one empty apology but that's just not acceptable given the circumstances. One of their staff said I could make a travel insurance claim but a situation like this isn't covered.
Wholeswell I wonder how this will impact their profits for next year!! At the rate they are going AerLingus iag they'll end up being boycotted by passengers because of continual crap treatment! Their reputation is in tatters! They make Ryanair look great!
