Met Éireann is forecasting a wet start to the week, warning that heavy showers could cause spot flooding in places today. It’s likely to remain unsettled in the coming days, with frost and ice possible on Thursday.
Damp conditions will continue into Tuesday but showers will be less frequent in the afternoon with temperatures rising to a maximum of 13 degrees. There may be a brief reprieve on Saturday, which the national forecaster expects to be the driest day of the week before rain returns that night and continues into Sunday.Monday Today there will be sunny spells and scattered blustery showers. Some of the showers will be heavy and may cause spot flooding. Cool with highest temperatures of nine to 12 degrees, in a moderate to fresh westerly wind.
Tuesday night will be wet and breezy with rain and drizzle extending across the country, accompanied by fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds. Dry and clear conditions with westerly winds will follow from the west later. Lowest temperatures of four to eight degrees. Thursday Another day of sunshine and scattered blustery showers, with more persistent rain possible in the southwest. Feeling chilly with highest temperatures of six to nine degrees, in a moderate to fresh and gusty southwesterly wind.
