Heavy showers with hail will hit Ireland as temperatures drop over the weekend

Temperatures are set to turn much cooler this weekend with “winter showers” possible as unsettled weather conditions to continue into next week.

Highest temperatures of 10C to 14C with fresh southwesterly winds, strong on Atlantic coasts.

Scattered showers will continue on Friday night, some heavy with hail and possibly turning wintry on hills. It will be the driest in the southeast. Lowest temperatures of 1C to 4C in a moderate to fresh and gusty westerly wind. Sunday Sunday will start off dry with just isolated showers, however, clouds will increase from the west during the morning and rain will spread across the country during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 7C to 10C with light to moderate variable winds.
