It will be a wet and mild couple of days before sunshine takes hold this weekend

Met Éireann has said that while the last two days before the weekend will see a lot of mild weather, there will be patches of light rain or drizzle at times before sunshine takes over for Saturday and Sunday.

He wrote: “Showers giving way to sunshine and we will less showers for all areas for next five days but there will still be the odd one. Turning milder too for those days with a nice weekend in store.” The rain, persistent at times near the north coast. Highest temperatures 9C to 13C with a moderate west to northwesterly wind setting in, increasing fresh in the north.

Friday night is shaping up to be dry with long clear spells and light winds. Lowest temperatures of 0C to 6C, coldest over Ulster with a touch of grass frost forming. Some mist and fog patches in places too.
