The Ireland star could be lining out for the Red Devils in the WSL next season.

Manchester United have emerged as contenders to sign Republic of Ireland International Denise O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan plays in America for North Carolina Courage and is out of contract with the National Women’s Soccer League when the season ends in November, with reports in England suggesting she is considering her future after eight seasons in America split across her time with the Courage and Houston Dash.

The 30-year-old can be signed on a free-transfer in November, but the Daily Mail in England is reporting that the Red Devils are considering approaching the Corkwoman this Summer.O'Sullivan - who is a lifelong Manchester United fan - has previously played in England's Women's Super League for Brighton in 2020. United are currently fifth in the WSL and will play in the women's FA Cup final this Sunday when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

After losing Alessia Russo to Arsenal last Summer, United are in the market for an advanced playmaker and Ireland star O'Sullivan certainly fits the bill as they look to cut the gap to perennial WSL title contenders Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea. Capped 109 times for Ireland, O'Sullivan is one of the stars of Eileen Gleeson's team and played a key role for Ireland as they qualified for the 2023 World Cup under Vera Pauw.
