Ireland's Rugby World Cup dream came to an end in Paris

Ireland's players consoled by family and friends after heartbreaking Rugby World Cup defeat to New ZealandIreland's Rugby World Cup squad were consoled by those closest to them following their heartbreaking defeat to New Zealand on Saturday night.

But they trailed for most of a thrilling contest at Stade de France and were unable to mastermind a stunning comeback as the formidable All Blacks progressed to a semi-final showdown with Argentina. Eight points from the boot of Jordie Barrett and five from Richie Mo’unga helped the All Blacks over the line as they overcame yellow cards for Aaron Smith and Codie Taylor.
