This comes as Irish health officials have confirmed three cases of a new strain in the country.
The new variant, known as Arcturus or XBB.1.16, was designated as a “variant under monitoring” by the World Health Organisation last month.It was first noticed in India, where there has been a major surge which has prompted the reintroduction of face mask wearing in parts of the country.Below are some of the key changes:
They also say that wearing a face covering/mask is no longer mandatory, however, anyone who wishes to continue to wear a face covering/mask should not be discouraged from doing so.
