Investigation after man's body found in Dublin flat

The man's body was found in a flat at Kevin Barry House on Coleraine Street in Dublin’s north inner city.

Gardaí were called to the flat today and when they arrived, they discovered the man's body as well as a number of people who may have been living there.The scene has been preserved pending the arrival of the State Pathologist. Gardaí suspect that the man died violently but will await the outcome of a post-mortem examination, which is due to be carried out tomorrow before upgrading the investigation.An incident room has been set up and a senior investigating officer has been appointed.

Forensic specialists from the Garda Technical Bureau will examine the scene and gardaí are to carry out searches and house-to-house inquiries in the immediate vicinity.
