I enjoy bringing a Fujifilm Instax camera to family gatherings, days out and special occasions as everyone gets some joy from seeing the snaps develop instantly. The instant prints make a nice souvenir, whatever the occasion.
The biggest is a new manual dial on the top of the unit for Instagram-style colour effects that can alter your instant snaps with filters. Another new dial up top is for exposure compensation. It gives you two stops of over-exposure or under-exposure. These exposure stops are not numbered like they would be on regular cameras, so I’m looking forward to testing this feature out for my upcoming review to see how much of a difference each stop will make to my shots.
And you get Macro Mode which has featured on previous Instax cameras for subjects between 0.3metres and 0.6 metres from the camera. The focus dial can be set Standard Mode for anything in between 0.6metres and three metres and Landscape Mode for everything three metres or more away. Fujifilm Instax Mini 99 features a rechargeable battery, which the firm said will last for about 100 prints, and it takes up to two hours to fully recharge.
