Fixed broadband subscriber lines have increased to 1.6 million according to a new report from the Commission for Communications Regulation, ComReg.

In its quarterly data report for the period 1 July to 30 September, ComReg says that on a monthly basis an average fixed residential broadband subscriber line used 368.5 GB of data, an increase of 11.8% since the third quarter of 2021.

Total voice traffic minutes decreased by 3% in the quarter with mobile minutes forming the majority of voice minutes at 88.8%.On a monthly basis an average mobile voice subscriber used 188 minutes, a decrease of 12.4% on last year. The average amount of texts sent was 37, an 18% annual decrease, while the average amount of data used increased by 15.7% 14.4GB.

Total mobile subscriptions, including mobile broadband and machine-to-machine, increased to 8.6 million in the third quarter of 2022, driven by a rise in post pay subscriptions which now represent over 70% of all mobile subscriptions.
