Enzo Maresca is firm in his belief that Leicester City's financial charges are not a distraction - but he may have changed his mind after a points deduction became a real possibility.
"At the end of the season, in case we get promoted, it'll be more enjoyable because you can face many problems that we've faced this year, but in the end, we've reached our target." A similar deduction could face Leicester, but not immediately. Due to the Foxes being in the Championship, they will not be impacted by the new rules voted through.
In another boost to Leicester, there would also not be time for an independent commission to be organised where both the Premier League and the Foxes would make their arguments. A decision would then have to be made pending any possible appeal from either side. Leicester might be at a disadvantage before a ball is even kicked, with the maximum of a 10-point penalty potentially awaiting them. There have also been reports that the Foxes may be forced to cash in on one of their stars to avoid any further charges.
