On the very day that Garth Brooks made history as the first artist ever to sell-out five consecutive nights at Croke Park, residents in the area are considering an injunction to block concerts at the stadium., Clonliffe and Croke Park Area Residents Association have expressed their anger over the potential disruption summer events will cause to the community.
Association spokesperson, Patrick Gates, explained how locals are pursuing various options to prevent gigs at the stadium. “There’s the possibility off taking an injunction to have the concerts stopped, or asking for the licenses not to be approved, or – at least — for major restrictions to be put on the concerts,” he said.Approximately 400,000 tickets were sold for Brooks’ comeback tour, while pop sensations One Direction will play a three night stint. The venue will also host a number of sporting events over the summer months.
