The Irish Blood Transfusion Service has warned that supplies of certain blood types are"critically" low and has issued a pre-amber alert to hospitals as it appeals for donors.
He added:"It's a very challenging position. We're asking regular donors, please if they receive a text from us to make an appointment to donate if you would also like to make an appointment if you’re O-negative, please ring our number - 1800 731137. Make sure you do our eligibility quiz which is on our website Giveblood.ie.In order to avoid surgeries being postponed, the IBTS is appealing for donors.
Mr McKinney said the IBTS has never had to issue an amber letter, which would mean that hospitals would"have to start considering whether non-essential operations should take place or could they be delayed or postponed."
Difficult to even see a doctor in the first place. Secretaries, who are unqualified in the medical field, decide whether you can see a doctor or not. I wonder do they have to face the same line of questioning if they want to see their own doctor? I don’t imagine so.
Have O- and tried to donate last month..... but they make it extremely difficult to do so. After 2hrs waiting I gave up. Everything the government touches is hapeless.
Does that mean the blood transfusion service is taking blood from anyone and not distinguishing between does whose blood has been contaminated by experimental jabs and those who are pureblood. I know which I would choose.
Make it easier and more convenient to donate IBTB
