Padraic and Tega were victims of an acid attack in Waterford. Since then they have learned that the person who threw the acid on them won't face criminal charges. They spoke to #CBLive about this horrific ordeal. pic.twitter.com/N2i7odtOfhTega, who was 16 at the time of the attack and is a promising footballer, had the acid thrown on his face. Initially, there were fears that he might not be able to see again, but he is now recovering.

“I kind of keep to myself more than I would in the past. I stay at home more and don’t go out as much and things like that,” he told the programme. In December, the families were informed by gardaí that two of the alleged attackers would not be charged and instead they received juvenile cautions. I believe the perpetrators should be described as bad/evil rather than what color they were. It’s shameful & so unjust that they were never punished. Justice department needs to be overhauled. I hope those 2 boys recover & find happiness in life.

it didnt suit the narrative , and shame on those in law, praying these boys get justice, this is the worst attack ever acid and should hold a lenghty sentence ,

Acid attacks just like London and Pakistan

It isn't fair the victims have to live with their scars for the rest of their life and the assailants aren't being punished for it. This represents a failure of the justice system.

For all the arseholes on here, this was committed by a couple of white Irish lads who got a slap on the wrist. Lucky I’m not in charge coz their parents as well as them would be in jail. Toe tags

Acid attacks are an imported crime and should carry a heavy mandatory sentence regardless of the age of the perpetrators.

So no description means they weren't white? So like others have said.. cultural crime

Any id on the perpetrators They should be incarcerated for a long time for this horrendous crime

they call themselves 'Irish patriots' now apparently 🙄

People who do this should be given mandatory 20 year sentences. Injuries from acid can change your entire life and ruin your health forever. An evil act
