SUSPENDED SPANISH FOOTBALL Federation president Luis Rubiales said today he will resign from his post because of the scandal caused by his kiss on the lips of a Women’s World Cup player.
“I’m going to , yes, because I cannot continue my work,” said Rubiales in an interview with television show ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored. Rubiales forcibly kissed Women’s World Cup player Jenni Hermoso on the lips after Spain’s win in the World Cup final last month, sparking worldwide outrage. Fifa suspended Rubiales pending an investigation into his behaviour, and Hermoso submitted a complaint to the national prosecutor’s office on Wednesday which is now with Spain’s high court.In an interview with Piers Morgan, Rubiales said: “About my resignation – yes, I am going to do . Of course I cannot continue my work.”
