'I Can and I Will' - World Down Syndrome Day marked

WDSD is celebrated each 21 March to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

The charity said the new resources will provide an insight into the realities of family life with a baby, child, teenager or adult with Down syndrome in Ireland today. Galway musician and teacher Seanie Vaughan is seeking to raise awareness of a parent's journey of dealing with a diagnosis of Down syndrome for their child.

Seanie's new single 'I Can and I Will', is about how they dealt with the diagnosis and came to realise all the positives that are involved.

They should be aborted. You have no idea how severe the condition until the child is born and are essentially gambling with your child health. Any parent who allows their child to be born with a severe disability waive their right to be called a good parent.
