The seven-year-old finished third behind Chianti Classico and Twig in the Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival last month

Money has been flooding in for the Willie Mullins -trained Meetingofthewaters ahead of this week's Grand National .

, shortly after being purchased by JP McManus from Paul Byrne. William Hill say money started to come for the Paddy Power Chase winner last week and that there is now a "massive gamble" on the son of Court Cave. The gamble has seen Meetingofthewaters' odds fall from 14/1 to 8/1 and the betting firm believe he could go off favourite for the race on the day.Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “The money started coming in for Meetingofthewaters last week and it has not stopped.

“Most people would have expected last year’s winner Corach Rambler to go off favourite, but if this gamble continues at its current rate we think there’s a good chance Meetingofthewaters could be favourite come Saturday race-time, and we’ve cut the JP McManus-owned runner to 7/2 from 5/1 to go off favourite.”
