The Health Service Executive has resumed administering the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine in modest amounts in acute hospital settings

The use of the vaccine had been paused for six days pending an investigation by the European Medicines Agency after a report of very rare blood clotting events in Norway.

Although no causal link between the AstraZeneca vaccine and those very rare blood clots could be established, the European Medicines Agency has said people being offered the vaccine must now be given updated information on what to be aware of in relation to these very rare events. This morning, as we recommence the AstraZeneca vaccine, our plan to protect some of the most vulnerable also continues. Today & tomorrow, 3,700 over 75 year olds, patients of GPs, will receive either first & second doses in the Helix vaccination centre @DCU. @ICGPnews #COVID19

Work has continued throughout the past week to identify medically vulnerable people at risk of developing severe illness from Covid-19 who are due to be invited for vaccines. Between 70,000 and 75,000 of those vaccinations will be focused on the 75 to 79-year-old age group and will be delivered in the community through the national GP network.

In all about 5,500 medically vulnerable people had vaccinations postponed last weekend when the use of the AstraZeneca Vaccine was suspended.

With the speed the HSE moves at we can look forward to another year to a year and a half of lockdown. Meanwhile cross channel ..............

You do realise the term “.. modest amounts..” is a real kick in the bollocks.

Glad to read Jack got his jab this morning wishing him all the best in his studies.

How many is modest half a dozen? Bang goes Christmas this year?

Sure if they are saying it’s safe, it’s safe...........is it not safe again or are we being pummeled into the ground by the biggest morons in the world of politics

'The HSE will now provide updated patient information about what to be aware of in relation to these very rare blood clotting events for people offered the AstraZeneca vaccine.' 4 month wait for 50 Million leaflets printed by a friend under a non-tendered contract at €1 each

The endemic corruption of this country is blatantly obvious. HSE vaccinating it’s financial staff working from home, vaccines going ‘missing’ and a criminally slow rollout. 301 doses administered nationwide on Sunday. Absolute disgrace.

AstraZeneca experimental gene therapy*** a vaccine creates immunity.

It was always modest

Can it be any more modest than the 301 countrywide vaccinations they did last Sunday ? COVID19ireland

Good 'horse' it out.

So, they don't give the patient the full vaccine? Just a moderate amount? I see.
