The ongoing cost of living crisis has left many people across Ireland trying to cut costs and save money where possible.It comes as Aldi Ireland has launched a new ‘secret discount’ where shoppers can buy a huge bag of food for just €3.99.
Aldi is the first Irish supermarket to partner with food surplus app Too Good To Go. It’s now selling ‘surprise bags’ filled with a range of products that are approaching their sell-by or use-by date at a third of the price. To avail of a ‘surprise bag’, shoppers need to download the free Too Good To Go app, search for their nearby Aldi store and reserve a bag to collect at an allotted time.
Sophie Trueman, Managing Director of Too Good To Go, added: “We’re thrilled to be officially launching our partnership with Aldi nationally. Having already had fantastic feedback during a successful trial period, I know our community is going to jump at the chance to save Surprise Bags from their local Aldi.
