Some nations have flourished, others less so

As Ireland's harsh lockdown finally appears to be ending, there are many countries who will be staring at us in jealousy.

However, there are some bright spots around the globe as some countries have almost squashed Covid completely. India is rapidly approaching the horrific milestone of 500,000 cases in a single day.Hospitals are too full, with no room for patients and no supplies left or either oxygen or beds.In the last seven days, they've reported 1.6 million new cases of the virus - the highest in the world by a considerable distance.

Ironically, this is due to Brexit allowing them to purchase jabs as they saw fit, as opposed to waiting with the rest of the EU bloc. The USA Joe Biden promised that in his first 100 days in office, he would have 100 million American citizens vaccinated. At the current pace of vaccine administration, the U.S. would be able to fully vaccinate the majority of its population by August.
