'Many flights which are taking off to the west are immediately banking north and flying low and loud over communities which were never expected to be overflown.'

Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has admitted it will be months before preventative action can be taken to change the flight paths causing them noise disruption.

Mr Ryan said as a result of this it is expected that a small number of dwellings, which were previously on the verge of eligibility for mitigation measures, may now become eligible. "Due to the technical nature and volume of the information from the DAA, data will be submitted and assessed on a phased basis over the coming months.

Fingal Labour TD Duncan Smith, who raised the issue with him in a written Dáil question, told how residents around the airport are really suffering and sick and tired of their lives being disrupted by the noise levels.
