Home of the Year winners Shane and Marty share their advice for home renovation

Shane Murray and Marty Campbell have shared their advice to anyone embarking on a big home renovation project.The couple bought the house back in 2022 when it was in a state of disrepair, but you would never know after the work they have done on it.The massive renovation project included upgrading the heating system, replacing windows and knocking down a wall.

Despite the amount of work they had to do on the home, Shane told RSVP Live that the fact they had known from the beginning what they needed to do helped them not to feel too overwhelmed. "We weren't too overwhelmed with all of the actual work because we had him to give us advice and steer us in the right direction."View gallery Looking back now the renovation work has been completed, Shane said that his big advice for anyone considering a similar project would be to make decisions about the home in the correct order.

Marty added: "Those were some of the biggest decisions we had to make and we probably made them too late - where to put lights and socket. If we could do that again, we would take a little bit more time and plan that as we planned each of the rooms, because a lot of that ended up being after the fact."
