Around 1,000 health and social care workers are to hold a 24-hour strike today in a dispute over pay restoration

The workers belonging to SIPTU and Fórsa are employed in a number of so-called Section 39 bodies, which are funded by the State to deliver services including hospices and home helps.

Section 39 workers are not classified as public servants, but suffered the same pay cuts during the recession. While 50 agencies have agreed a roadmap for restoration, workers in 250 similar bodies are still waiting.

Solidarity. The rest of the country should join them. If the BRITISH invaders were doing it we'd be at war by now
