Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn made the appeal amid rising anger over flights arriving here every day from US Covid-19 hotspots.It’s feared a second wave will be imported by visitors despite Irish people being told to cancel foreign trips.
“If you come into this country you need to restrict your movements for 14 days. It is a concern people are not following that.The acting NPHET chief did not back Labour’s tourism spokesman Duncan Smith’s call for the suspension of flights. There were no new deaths yesterday and just 11 new cases. The death toll stands at 1,746 with people 25,638 infected. The 14-day rate of the disease is up slightly to 3.47 per 100,000 population.
