Lewis Hamilton is trading in Mercedes for a shot at glory with Ferrari next year, but the 39-year-old will still have to compete against Red Bull's dominant driver Max Verstappen

Lewis Hamilton will struggle to make much of an impact at Ferrari because he lacks the X-factor of Max Verstappen, according to Ralf Schumacher.

The seven-time world champion will become team-mates with Charles Leclerc at his new team and will continue trying to challenge Verstappen for the drivers’ championship. While Schumacher sees some benefits to the move, he has given a scathing assessment of Hamilton’s ability to win races. He added: “Hamilton is of course a seven-time World Champion and a fantastic driver. But I don’t think he has the qualities that Verstappen has. I don’t think he is as consistent as Verstappen. And he cannot get that extra tenth out at any cost.”
