Grieving dad calls for remorseless killers to be caged for 15 years

A dad whose son was killed in a one-punch attack has insisted remorseless killers should be caged for 15 years.

The 27-year-old killer, who had 74 previous convictions, was jailed for eight years in June for the manslaughter. Mr Tobin said: “He was on bail and supposed to be on curfew. He shouldn’t have been out on the street at all. “So he was playing the system. There’s no remorse whatsoever. And then the judge gave him 10 years, two years suspended for giving himself up and for being a good boy in custody; he couldn’t be anything else.”
