Social Justice Ireland says the Government needs to set a target of 20% of all housing to be social housing by the end of this decade

Its recommendation is made in a submission to the Department of Housing as part of a review of housing policy.

It also urges that the sale of houses held by Approved Housing Bodies be prohibited to keep them in use for social housing. Fine Gael Minister of State Martin Heydon yesterday said the Government will take action "very soon" to stop investors from bulk buying property. Social Democrats TD Catherine Murphy said she believed the number of properties being bought by investor funds was closer to 20%.

9 years?

We already have one of the highest % in Europe, it doesn't seem to be working

The same people who will celebrate more social housing are those who bemoan job creation by multinational companies. These firms are in fact the source of income for many who hope to own their own home and leave a housing waiting list.

This is a huge wealth transfer from one sector to another.

Sure fuckit just lash out free houses to everyone

That is the most self-destructive idea I’ve ever heard. Ireland……smh……

French govt condemns soldiers warning of 'civil war'The government of French President Emmanuel Macron has reacted with fury after a group of serving French soldiers published an open letter warning that 'civil war' was brewing over his 'concessions' to Islamism, weeks after a similar message from elements in the military. So who’s more extremist, French army or government? Thought the army was warning against Macron’s draconian measures against its minority citizens and the state level oppression against them but it turned out to be the opposite. They’re threatening him to expedite his efforts👏🏽👏🏽 He would be against our hate crime proposed laws... Unfortunately Ireland is moving in the same direction....Islam very very slowly makes inroads and their foe is infidels ( Christians and atheists)....but hey, who am I to speak?

You've a better chance of beating Dublin in an all Ireland final 😂🇮🇪 At least it blows the no politics in sport myth out of the water.
