Now, it turns out that the song used has been gathering extremely impressive streams over the past two weeks or so. 'Goo Goo Muck' by The Cramps is over forty years old at this stage, having appeared on the band's 1981 album 'Psychedelic Jungle', and is actually a cover of a monster rock song originally created by Ronnie Cook and The Gaylads in 1962.
Since featuring in 'Wednesday', The Cramps version of the track has seen a 5000% increase in streams just five days after the series was released on Netflix. Jim Shaw, who owns the publishing rights to the track, said the song’s resurgence was"a really amazing, fun little bonanza". 'Goo Goo Muck' now has nearly 10 million streams on Spotify.
