Golf clubs across the country are putting the final touches in place ahead of their reopening tomorrow.

Stackstown Golf Club in Dublin, which closed in early January, is among the courses opening as part of the further easing of Covid-19 restrictions.

Sheila Gillick, the Lady Captain at Stackstown, said it will be a big boost for both the club and its members. "You have no idea. It'll save the mental health of so many of our members, so hopefully the weather will hold up for us now." She told RTÉ News she has been getting texts from people saying they are "just dying to get back and asking are we really going to open".

Ms Gillick said the club has been "striving to keep the golf course in perfect condition and our course staff have done a great job.""We are playing in two balls, so two people will have a whole fairway to themselves. You come, play your golf, get into your car and go home. It couldn't be safer."
