Daily carbon emissions dropped by more than a sixth around the world at the height of the coronavirus lockdown, research has suggested.

However, the "extreme" reduction in emissions is "likely to be temporary", said Corinne Le Quere, Professor of Climate Change Science at the University of East Anglia.

Aviation is the economic sector most impacted by the lockdown, but it only accounts for 3% of global emissions, or 10% of the decrease in emissions during the pandemic, researchers said. "These extreme decreases are likely to be temporary though, as they do not reflect structural changes in the economic, transport, or energy systems.

And yet CO2 is still rising ( Mauna Laua observatory ) - 416ppm .Human emissions are irrelevant

That doesn't surprise me at all l can smell the fumes again oh god it was lovely for a while.

That cause all the cows are furloughed I suppose

This reduction is not stopping global CO2 levels going up in PPM.....Not bending the CO2 curve.....

How much of this is from the reduction in methane being released by us Guinness drinkers?

Would have been a bigger drop if Trump wasn’t doing all those press conferences
