A Garda Roads Policing Unit caught a taxi travelling 30km/h over the legal speed limit while carrying passengers.

Gardaí attached to the Naas Roads Policing Unit made the traffic stop after clocking the taxi travelling 30km/h over the legal speed limit. On Twitter, they wrote: "Naas Roads Policing detected this taxi travelling at a speed of 80km/hr in a 50km/hr zone in the Athgarvan area. Passengers were on-board at the time the speed was recorded."
The driver of the taxi was issued with a Fixed Charge Notice by gardaí attached to the Naas Roads Policing Unit in Kildare, amounting to a fine of €160 to be paid.
