Gardaí probing links between stabbing and fatal road crash in Co Monaghan

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING links between two deaths in Co Monaghan earlier today, with post-mortem examinations of the two bodies due to take place tomorrow.

Sources described the scene at the house as ‘horrific’ and said the man who died had suffered multiple stab wounds. A Garda spokesperson said this evening that the results will determine the course of the investigation The body of the man, aged in his late 30s, has also been removed to the mortuary in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for a post-mortem, also due to take place tomorrow morning.Gardaí in Carrickmacross are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
