Garda probe after lesbian couple injured in 'homophobic attack'

The couple, Robyn Deane and her girlfriend Kate, were allegedly attacked in broad daylight by two men while waiting at a bus stop.READ MORE:Face of evil child killer as Santina Cawley's mum asks 'how could she do this to a little baby?’There has been widespread condemnation over the alleged homophobic attack, with one of the women posting images of her "mutilated" face on social media.

In an update on Wednesday, Robyn said on Instagram: "For everyone interested there will be an ongoing investigation into the two males who assaulted Kate and I on Monday."As you can see, my face is mutilated and it will be a long recovery. Again, thank you all for the support." A garda spokesperson confirmed to the Irish Mirror that no arrests have been made as yet and their inquiries are ongoing.

"Shortly after 6:00pm, Gardaí were alerted following reports of an assault incident on Drumcondra Road Upper.
