Paul Jones was found dead at his home in Cork on Saturday morning

The investigation was upgraded to a murder inquiry last evening following the results of a post-mortem examination carried out on Paul Jones.Mr Jones' body was discovered by his son in the front room of his home on the Bandon Road in the city at around 11.30am on Saturday.Mr Jones was originally from Cahergal in Ballyvolane, but had been living at the house on Bandon Road for more than five years.

Investigators have renewed their appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Bandon Road/MacCurtain Villas area of Cork City between Monday 2 September and Saturday 7 September to contact them.An incident room has been set up at Anglesea Street Garda Station .
