As we move into the New Year, the time will come to take down the Christmas decorations until next year.
With charges from private waste companies ranging from €10-€20 to take away a tree from your home, many county councils across the country are providing free drop off locations where people can leave their natural trees to be recycled. The wood will be used to create wood chips and other assorted items for the community.
Galway Galway City Council are providing two depots for people to drop off their natural Christmas trees this year. Mayo Mayo County Council are running the same scheme, with a number of drop off points organised for the county, all of which will be open from Friday January 6th to Saturday January 21st 2023.
