Former Dublin and Tipperary hurling star Ryan O'Dwyer has appealed for witnesses over an incident which happened last month.Mr O'Dwyer is appealing for witnesses to the accident which, he says, occurred under Newlands Cross Bridge on 27 April at about 8:30 in the evening. He was driving a red VW van and says his vehicle was hit by a car which drove off - but in doing so, knocked him to the ground.
He is appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward or anyone who may have dash camera footage from the location at that time to check if the incident was recorded. Mr O'Dwyer played for Tipperary's senior hurling team from 2007 to 2009 and was also part of the Premier County's football squad in 2010. He declared for the Dubs in 2011 and was part of the Boys in Blue squad that became the first Dublin team to win the National Hurling League since the 1930s, as well as the side that won the Leinster Championship in 2013. He retired from inter-county hurling in 2018.
