Why is it known as the Flower Moon? May’s full moon is known as the flower moon, a reference to its appearance in late spring, when many flowering plants begin to bloom again after their winter slumber. How the Flower Moon affects your energy This year, the Flower Moon is positioned as a full moon in Sagittarius, a fire sign and the ninth on the wheel and on the same Axis as the air sign, Gemini which made the two similar in modality and themes.

Astrologer Bella Popa claims that the Flower Moon will have a powerful impact on people’s emotions and in some cases, it will even help clear up past experiences. “Full moons in astrology are a time of heightened emotion, which is why you can feel very energized and extroverted during them,” she explains. “They bring things to light and into fruition, therefore helping you see the result of your previous actions. This full moon is happening in the sign of Sagittarius, so if you think back to what you started during the Sagittarius new moon, which happened on December 12, 2023, you may see the results of those efforts now.
