A Status Yellow snow and ice warning is in place nationwide until 11.59pm tonight, but latest forecasts anticipate more snow, particularly across Ulster and Connacht, on Wednesday.

"Highest temperatures of 3C to 5C, feeling colder in strong and gusty westerly winds. A combination of Spring Tides, strong onshore winds and high seas will result in a risk of coastal flooding along western, northern and eastern coasts, especially around high tide. "Showers on Wednesday will become mainly confined to the west and north of the country as winds continue to ease through the day.
