The retrial of former solicitor Michael Lynn has been set for October of 2023.

Image: Sam Boal THE RETRIAL OF former solicitor Michael Lynn, who is accused of stealing millions of euro from a number of financial institutions, has been set down for October 2023.

The jury in the four month trial failed to reach a verdict after 12 hours of deliberating and was discharged earlier this month.Today John Berry BL, prosecuting, told the court the Director of Public Prosecutions is seeking a retrial. Lynn of Millbrook Court, Red Cross, County Wicklow pleaded not guilty to 21 counts of theft in Dublin between 23 October, 2006 and 20 April, 2007, when he was working as a solicitor and property developer.

The financial institutions involved were Bank of Ireland, National Irish Bank , Irish Life and Permanent, Ulster Bank, ACC Bank, Bank of Scotland Ireland Ltd and Irish Nationwide Building Society.
