Head of white-label payment start-up says having the former boss of Manchester United come on board is ‘a real coup’

Former Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is among the backers to put €1 million into Irish fintech start-up Splink.

Woodward’s Airstream Ventures led the funding round which also involved contributions from Enterprise Ireland and other private investors. The UK-based investment fund was set up by Woodward, who left Manchester United last year, and Gavin Petken, a former executive at Royal Bank of Scotland and an angel investor.
