A former Fine Gael minister has called on President Joe Biden to confront Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald over their criticism of Israel. Alan Shatter, a strong supporter of Israel, believes that the Irish government and Sinn Féin have been unfair to the Jewish State since the Hamas attack that killed over 1,200 people. Israel launched a campaign against Gaza following the attack, resulting in at least 30,000 deaths.

A former Fine Gael minister has urged President Joe Biden to confront Taoiseach Leo Varadkar face to face – for “unbalanced” criticism of Israel . Alan Shatter , who was previously minister for defence and justice, wants Mr Biden and members of Congress to face down the Fine Gael leader as well as Sinn Féin boss Mary Lou McDonald when they visit Washington for the traditional St. Patrick’s day celebrations.

Mr Shatter, who is a strong supporter of Israel, says he believes the Irish government – as well as main opposition party Sinn Féin – have been unfair to the Jewish State since the Hamas October 7 attack that killed more than 1,200 people.
