The actor and director died following a short illness with many people paying their tributes to him.

Mayor Moloney added: “It was with deep shock and profound sadness that I learned of the passing, at such a young age, of Donie Courtney. She highlighted Donal’s commitment to acting and the strong history that his family have in Killarney.
