Ireland's Argentine Ambassador to be buried in Foxford, Co Mayo due to special connection

A foreign ambassador tragically found dead in Dublin last month is to be buried in a rural village due to a special link between it and her native country.

The highly respected and "cherished" diplomat had visited the village on several occasions as it was the birthplace of the founder of the Argentine Navy, Admiral William Brown. A spokesman for the society said: "Ambassador Bernal had a great affection for the people of Foxford and County Mayo and we are and honored that her family have chosen our area as her final resting place.More than 200 Argentinian military personnel travelled to the village last November, when the tall ship, Libertad, visited Ireland.
