This is the first picture of a 12-year-old by who was killed when a car ploughed into a group of children in a "deliberate" hit-and-run outside a school.Two 15-year-old boys, a 13-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and the 23-year-old woman were injured when, according to witnesses, a car mounted the kerb and sent Harley "into the air" before driving off.
Another friend wrote: "I know you won’t see this message because you have switched places in this world and sadly passed away but your my best friend through thin and thick. "Never ever thought I would be writing this but, Rest in perfect paradise too one of the most amazing, funny, talented boys I ever had the pleasure of meeting.
A school friend described Harley as a "caring" and "loving" boy, adding: "Today I lost an amazing young funny kind boy. He was like a little ball of light that put a smile on everyones face. Officers had begun a manhunt as they tried to trace a silver Ford Ka, with the registration LS08 OKW, which is believed to have been damaged in the crash in Willingale Road.Residents told journalists that a car had attempted to run down children at a neighbouring school earlier.
Earlier, Ms Harman said searches had been carried out to try to locate the suspect, as she appealed directly to him to come forward.East of England Ambulance Service sent 15 ambulances and 10 other vehicles, while three air ambulances were mobilised. "I would like to thank the many members of the public who have called us with information and spoken to our officers, as well as those who provided crucial medical assistance at the scene.
"We will consult with the family and our school community to decide how best to commemorate his life. "Our thoughts are with the family and all those affected. As a school we continue to work with the police supporting the ongoing investigation.
