A new points-based system will restrict the provision of visas to low-skilled workers after the UK leaves the EU. cathyby Complete rubbish, they have a similar system in Australia & have thriving retail, farming & food processing sectors. Wages at the lower end of the labour market are higher too ie above their minimum wage. We also have the highest econ inactivity rate in the UK so we’ll be fine.

Historically, every State immigration 'control' since the (anti-Semitic)1905 Aliens Act has increased the inflow of cheap migrant labour into GB/UK. A better plan is to restore the pre-1905 'open door/closed shop' system whereby Trade Unions controlled entry to the labour market.
