Farmers have raised a “recurring problem” of gangs of men with dogs going on to farms and threatening livestock. The Irish Farmers Association said that in a recent incident in Tipperary a farmer encountered men with dogs “lamping” on his land, and was badly beaten when he engaged with them.More than 250 farmers attended a meeting last week in Adare, Co Limerick, to tackle the issue, and hundreds have attended community meetings across the country, with many expressing fears for their safety.
“The meetings hear calls for additional Garda patrols and the need for more visibility of gardaí,” he said. “Despite assurances that recruitment is ongoing, the failure to get enough replacements for those retiring is leading to gaps in resources.” – PA

Gardaí won't have time for that, they will be too busy watching what options are being expressed
Without rural crime how would insurance companies' profits increase. Crime increases shareholder dividends. Criminals back on streets 5 minutes later. Farm families left with bigger insurance costs. It's all a sick game.
In 13 years (science my Irish journey begins) never seen any Garda in rural village area.
She and FG apparently party of law and order do not care.
Unless the farmer could prove that prior to the poor sheep being rent asunder by a marauding pack of dogs that the sheep's feelings were hurt or a pronoun violation occurred the minister can have no role in the matter.
Neighbourhood watch, 30 farmers and families show up when help needed dealing with these thugs and I guarantee the Gardaí will show up quickly afterwards.

Fat Gardai are too busy being trained to identify the millions of different things that offend the LGBT. That's their only priority now as per social justice minister Helen McEntee's orders.

More Gardai is great and all but what's really needed is for the DPP and the courts to man up and jail these people. Because it is the same people committing these crimes. They know who they are. They're walking around free with 80 and 100 convictions each, laughing at us.
