Galway actress Nicola Coughlan leads the new Channel 4 comedy Big Mood and we have all the info you need before the series gets underway later this week

Before she takes centre stage in the new season of Netflix's hit regency drama Bridgerton, Irish actress Nicola Coughlan will next be seen starring in the new Channel 4 comedy, Big Mood.

But with the rest of their lives looming, careers hanging in the balance, and Maggie’s bipolar disorder making an unwelcome return to form, Eddie begins to question whether this friendship is really in their best interests. In the opening episode, Maggie goes back to her old school to give a talk. But she's not there to inspire the children with her not-so-illustrious playwrighting career; she wants to find out if hot history teacher Mr Wilson still fancies her.

Cast and crew Big Mood is written and created by Camilla Whitehill and directed by Rebecca Ashe, who has worked on acclaimed shows such as Dead to Me and Brooklyn Nine Nine. "She's got such a distinct voice and that came through so clearly within the scripts. Big Mood has so much heart to it as well. It's a gift as an actor when you just get handed a script like that and you haven't even had to audition, you're like thank you so much this is great!"

"I'm so insanely proud of it. It's the most personally invested I've ever been in anything that I've ever worked on. Because it is written by one of my best friends and it's got so much meaning behind it. I think it's so funny.
