Eurovision winner Nemo stormed to victory with catchy song The Code - but the singer called out the song contest for banning non-binary flags and revealed they smuggled one in

Eurovision 2024 winner Nemo Mettler has revealed they broke the trophy minutes after their victory was announced – and said it’s not just that that needs fixing about the famous song contest.

But as they went to stand up, the trophy broke on the stage leaving Nemo holding half of it in their hands – just 30 minutes after UK voiceover host Graham Norton said: “Don’t break the trophy!” Revealing the song which features the lyrics 'break the code' was about them realising their own non-binary identity and entering the competition was about 'standing up for the entire LGBTQIA+ community', Nemo shared: "I had to smuggle my flag in because Eurovision said no - and I did it anyway, so I hope so other people did that too. Come on!

The Eurovision jury spokesperson for Israel was booed before they announced the country had awarded its 12 points to Luxembourg, and a similar noise was heard as Israel act Eden Golan performed on stage.
