EU proposal the game-changer at COP27

Developing countries had refused to discuss it because it was originally spoken about as a form of compensation to the victims of climate change.

So poorer and developing countries dug in their heels. Rows took place behind the scenes. Then finally at the last minute, just before the negotiations started,"Loss and Agenda" minus the term"compensation" was put on the official COP27 agenda. However, it was the EU COP27 delegation, led by Commission Vice President and Commissioner for Climate Action Frans Timmermans, that made it all happen.

Yet it is the poorest and most vulnerable, the developing countries, the so-called Global South who bear the brunt of the consequences, and will continue to suffer the worst effects of climate change into the future.

I wonder why we couldn't stop the younger dryas 14,500 thousand years ago, oh yeah because the earth does what it wants. You can put restrictions constantly on humans but the earth goes through these periods constantly. It's not going to stop what's to come. It's an amazing deal for us, thanks to the Minister and his team. Ireland, itself a small, formerly colonised island nation vulnerable to sea level rises should make a packet out of this one, please God. Feel sick whenever i see him.
