The EU Council has agreed on new rules for travel, and it's good news for Irish holidaymakers hoping to jet off to countries such as Spain, Portgual, Italy and France

Irish tourists travelling abroad after February 1st can travel anywhere in the EU with proof of vaccination, recovery from Covid-19, or a negative test.

This means that anyone meeting the listed criteria above will not face any extra measures when travelling abroad, such as self-isolation or additional testing. Ahead of the meeting, European Affairs Secretary for France Clément Beaune said the change in rules would take into account a traveller's individual situation and limit the amount of restrictions for travel in Europe as much as possible.
